About Friends of Las Vegas Academy
Friends of Las Vegas Academy of the Arts was established to support the unique financial needs of LVA. LVA is a public, five-star, 12-time Grammy award winning, performing arts high school which provides a free, specialized education to more than 1,700 students. Unlike traditional public high schools, acceptance to LVA is based on an audition in the student's selected major. These majors include: Theater, Musical Theater, Theater Tech, Dance, Band, Orchestra, Vocal/Choir, Piano, World Jazz Studies, Guitar, Mariachi and Visual Arts. The unique style of the students' education requires additional funding so that each student can benefit fully from their experience at LVA. We fund many scholarships for our students to travel and go to college internationally and worldwide. We have funded things such as: upgrades to two of our theaters, a recording studio, our first official LVA piano lab, new computers, scientific calculators, projection scenery equipment as used on Broadway, sound equipment, new dance floors for our studios, print shop equipment and supplies for our Visual Arts Department, new instruments, uniforms for our performers, upgrades to our library, and hiring professionals for master classes. Please join us for this special evening as we Experience the Arts in Masquerade in support of the Las Vegas Academy of the Arts.
